This paper explores the three published online articles that report on the results cellular devices have on teenagers. There have been multiple studies on how addicting cell phones can become. Since there really is not evidence supporting the point that having a cell phone is on a cultural level or an economic status, the cell phone â€Å"abuse† is most common in younger people, especially females. Cell phone use problems have been associated with certain values, like self-esteem, self identity, and self-image. There have also been studies on how stress, anxiety, and sometimes even depression have been associated with problematic cell phone use. Over the last few decades, the age for a cell phone has gone down remarkably, subjecting children to the internet way too early. Using a cell phone is a big responsibility most children and teenagers do not understand due to ignorance since most of them are too young. The Effect of Cellphone Use on Teenagers Having a cell phone no matter what age is going to be stressful. Phones temp teenagers to be on them all day, causing their productivity to decrease dramatically. Excess texting and internet access can cause fatigue and psychological issues down the line, like depression and anxiety because the sense of a quick response is an elevating feeling but when someone does not text back it can cause a sense of worry and sadness. Once they log onto social media and are exposed to everything the internet has to offer, that is all they think about. The internet can have a very negative influence on the young, undeveloped adolescent brains of children and teenagers. Roughly two-thirds of teens are even cyberbullied and half of them do not know who the person bullying them is (Teen). Along with the responsibilities being a teenager comes with, a cell phone can get in the way of fulfilling those tasks.
